Rolling Art

Blank canvas
I recently stumbled upon this great idea to display miniature works of art.  And since we are a group of talented chics who meet regularly to exchange, create, eat, yes, drink and be merry, I thought this project was right up our alley!

The layers begin...paints, papers...rubber stamps...oh, the teapot is whistling...
be right back!   (teatime is drying time)

I will complete these first 3 cards in steps...adding images, writings...who knows what will transpire as I get inspired...it's Springtime and I am in no hurry!

And later today, I will hand out rolodex cards to my ARTY TEA PARTY FRIENDS to create...
Here's a link to some CRAZY GUYS where I found this project...More CRAZY GUYS

Soy Candle Making Party

 1846 House Soaps Soy Candles
Beautiful Spring Colored Soy Candles

Thanks to Lynn of 1846 House Soaps for hosting
the Soy Candle Making event for the Arty Tea Party Guild...
Lynn took us step by step, from preparing the Mason Jars and wicks, to the melting of the wax.  (All while we were having our fancy teas and coffee and treats.)

As the melted wax is cooling in our glass measuring cups, it is time for the few drops of color, if desired.  Stir, stir...and while the wax gets to a certain temperature, (not too hot, not too cool) we sniff all the different scented oils available to try and match the colors we have chosen.  Unscented is fine, too!

Golden Honey Color Drops
I chose the color of Golden Honey for the color of my candles, amber like.  For one candle, my scent is Cedarwood/Vanilla and for the other Brown Sugar/FigI love the colors, one just a hint lighter than the other...
Colored, scented, and poured!
Now we wait, while the wax is setting.  The whole barn smells amazing!  This is when we shop, yak, eat, drink and be merry!
And we shared "Rosebud" Sandy's birthday cake.  Even though Dear Sweet Sandy Rosebud was not in attendance!

Many different colors and scents.

Thank you Lynn...it was a great day!  Stop by and visit Lynn at the Big Red Barn, or visit her here...1846 House Soaps to see all of her handmade Goat's Milk Soap products AND the great Soy Candles!
HAPPY SPRING...FINALLY!

Rosebud Sandy's Altered Book

Altered Book by Sandy
This is Rosebud Sandy's altered book with all of it's "rosebud" glory and bling!  Ya gotta love that Sandy as she includes it in her little springtime vignette on her front porch...with a swing and all!

Stay tuned for more of the altered book, "Art Journal Hop" with the ladies of the Arty Tea Party Guild.  Our first "hop/swap" is tomorrow at the Candle Making Party.
