Onward to 2017

As we bring 2016 to a close, I for one, am prepping for an AB FAB 2017, full of more "creative chaos" than my family can stand!  And this is part of the paper stash that I have been stockpiling over the past couple weeks during this fabulous Christmas season.  Coffee dyed papers all to be used in my new line of Journals.  Now I have these papers stashed in a wooden box, lined with cedar and palo santo wood.  These papers smell fantastic, and they can hardly wait to be included in books.

I will also have some paper packets available for purchase for your own Junk Journals, Smash Books, or whatever scrapbooking project you may have going.

BEST WISHES TO ALL FOR A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR, FROM THE TALENTED CHICS OF THE ARTY TEA PARTY GUILD!

The talented chics of the Arty Tea Party Guild have partnered up with Nina of Happy Herbs Soap, member of Pure Catskills, to head out to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for the Harvest Festivals.
Wonderful handmade soaps...all natural ingredients. Leaves skin so soft and softly scented.

These lovely coiled rope creations by Andrea of Doodle Doos, are truly a work of heART.  Her passion shows in the details...bowls, clutches, baskets, totes...very useful and very beautiful!

Beautiful Stained Glass creations by Judie, and wonderfully textured Mixed Media Art by Kitty.  And some ever so sweet Victorian work by Sandy "Rosebud" Scarano.

Some mixed media fun by yours truly...

Sunflower Art Festival

Annual Sunflower Art Festival
Well, this local 2nd annual festival was a complete surprise to me and hubby, as we ventured out on the motorcycle to try and keep cool in the drastic heat wave that has hit the northeast.

We had no idea what it was all about, but an artist friend of ours was participating, and we like to support the arts, and I am very glad that we went.  Not only were these works of art in progress, but there was some really good live music going on, all day long, and into the early evening.

There was so much going on at this festival, from paintings, music, vendors, kid games, and of course the running water from the gristmill...a great event all around.
But the pièce de résistance, was this wonderful sunflower creation by our very own talented chic, Kitty Mitchell.  On canvas with acrylic painted background, decoupaged paper flowers, with rubber stamping all around.  AB FAB, KITTY!  Next year, we will join you!

Aloha for now...

More from the NEVERENDING BOOK HOP/SWAP!

Lucy's Book
Packed with lots of goodies...
This wonderful purple page is, of course Nina's, complete with her crow feathers.  And what is cool about this page is that she embedded her fragrant powdered incense into the textured white feathers.  It makes the whole book smell, AMAZING!  Her homemade crow incense cones are my fave! Go Nina! You can find Nina's handmade soaps, incense and other wonderful smells on ETSY!
Ask her about the INCENSE CROWS!

This pretty in pink page has "Rosebud" Sandy written all over it.  She is good for layering lots of different papers, adding pockets and such.  Sweet!

Now Judie, has to put her special touch in here with a stained glass chicken, since Lucy had a very cool chicken named, Ozzie.  She even added feathers from her own chickens! Great job, Judie! Her stained glass creations adorn all of our homes.

Well Andrea forgot how much she loaded into her spread.  She made her own pockets for a wonderful ATC accordian booklet, and pretty little tags.  She's terrific!

Kay's creation is absolutely CRAZY!  And I mean CRAZY QUILT!  You will need a cuppa tea to sit down and enjoy this spread.
AB FAB, for sure!
Alicia's contribution reminds us to take time out to relax!  And with the view that she has up on the mountain, it is easy to do!  Open the garden gate, and come sit a spell!

Kitty always reminds us not to sweat the small stuff.  Just get out there and play. And she is has so much to offer with her art from the heART!  Thanks Kitty for playing with us!

Now if you want to see my own pages, RED AND FULL OF PASSION you'll have to pop in over here to see my spread, where I was prompted by some of the text on the page, which I kept.

Thanks for stopping by to visit the Talented Chics of the Arty Tea Party Guild!  Next post will feature some of our fantastic artists who are stepping out with their wares at the local festivals!

Aloha!

Date Night in NYC

While the Talented Chics of the Arty Tea Party Guild are preparing for a how to make your own washi tape gathering, I stepped out with the hubby for a fantastic concert in NYC.

Pink Floyd was my very first concert ever when Dark Side of the Moon came out back in the 70's.  Now I was not really old enough to go to a big concert, but my older sister told me that she was not allowed to go unless she dragged my sorry butt along.  Love her!!! I had no idea what to expect, and boy was it out of this world!  I will never forget that one!

And last night David Gilmour, the voice of Pink Floyd, still sounds the same at 70 years old!  With a great set that included some of those PF hits, Money, Us and Them, Time, Breathe...along with songs from his new Rattle That Lock album, the show did not disappoint.  As usual, a great light show, too! Comfortably Numb, the whole way home!

Madison Square Garden was sold out for this one...2 nights in a row!  This, after they did a gig just down the street at Radio City Music Hall... And these folks came from Maryland to play in the traffic on the streets of NYC to join in the fun!  And from the way the Mrs. in the passenger seat was waving her hands all around, she wasn't having any fun yet!   Pink Floyd fans, all the way!

Aloha Friends...thanks for stopping by.  Will post the Washi Tape fun upon completion!

You've Got Mail...Art!

The dying art of sending snail mail via the good old USPS, is alive and well with my group of gal pals, known as the Talented Chics of the Arty Tea Party Guild.

Recently, when one of our friends was in a funk due to some medical issues, we got onboard to send her decked out envies...now some of the envies actually contain a note, a letter or some type of message, but not always.  In fact, most times, we just send each other an empty envie that is dressed to the nines....and yes that means decked out!  And if you are the lucky recipient of one, then you must, absolutely must reciprocate and send one back.
From a past LYA POSTCARD SWAP...
Postal workers love when we send MAIL ART!

This one with Alaska stamp, went to Honolulu!
Showing just the back of envie (didn't want to post anybody's personal addies)

OK, so get out those art supplies, and decorate an envie, and send it out as a surprise!

Rosebud SHOUT OUT!

Rosebud Sandy preparing eggs for decorating!
Our Dear Sweet Friend "Rosebud" Sandy, is abit under the weather.  OK, maybe alot, and the cold winter temps surely do not help much.  But we are all very grateful and happy that her quadruple bypass surgery has done the trick, and she has a whole new lease on life!

And boy is she on a mission to figure out what the heck to do with it next!  So here's a great big

"GO SANDY"
to help on her way to a complete recovery!  BAM!

From the talented chics of the Arty Tea Party Guild!
